Volunteer at the Currier
Help us share art with our community!
Share the power of art with our community! From leading public tours to guided art activities, volunteer educators are central to the Currier Museum of Art’s mission of connecting art with diverse audiences, from its neighborhood to international and digital visitors. If you love people, and enjoy facilitating exciting conversations and experiences about art, apply to become a volunteer educator!
There are ongoing volunteer opportunities at the Currier! The next training class to learn to give tours will be in Spring 2024.
Currently, the Currier Museum of Art is welcoming volunteers to prepare art materials, work in the museum shop, assist certain wellness programs, and help at events. We will help match you with the best options based on your application. Future training classes will offer opportunities to lead museum tours in the galleries or at the Frank Lloyd Wright houses.
Volunteers are asked to commit at least 50 hours over the year, with openings all year and most days of the week. This is a great way to connect with art, join a lively learning community, and support positive community programs in Manchester.
To learn more, please click here to fill out an application, or contact Carolin Sanchez, Tour and Volunteer Manager, at csanchez@currier.org or by phone at 603.518.4956. Volunteers are required to become a member of the Currier Museum of Art View membership options and pricing here.
History of the Guild of Volunteers
As early as 1970, volunteer docents were trained to conduct tours of the Currier Museum’s collection. In May 1982, the Guild of Volunteers was formally organized to provide “provide volunteer personnel to carry out such projects, programs, and activities as designed and requested by the museum staff and departments.”
Today the Guild has approximately 100 members donating more than 6600 hours of their time annually to support all aspects of the museum’s operations.

The Currier Museum of Art is committed to a fair and equitable volunteer experience for individuals from all backgrounds. We strive to create accessible experiences, with inclusive programing for all who come into our institution, including our volunteers. By celebrating diversity, we intend to build strong community connections and increase visibility for the culturally expansive city of Manchester.
