Celebrating Alanis Obomsawin

Please join us for a screening of Waban-Aki: People from Where the Sun Rises, an autobiographical documentary by renowned filmmaker and activist Alanis Obomsawin.
This lyrical account follows Obomsawin as she recounts her childhood as part of the Abenaki nation, revealing a more personal approach to her life-long campaign for indigenous recognition.
Known for film, prints, and other media, Obomsawin’s arts career spans over 40 years, beginning with her birth in New Hampshire and childhood spent in the Odanak and the Trois-Rivieres reserves in Canada.
