Art for Vets
The Currier Museum's Art for Vets program provides access to art, studio classes, and wellness experiences in our galleries and classrooms year-round.
We aim to serve our veteran and active-service members by creating programs that align with a Whole Health philosophy and promote individual wellness through:

Art for Vets (AFV) Program Offerings and Membership Benefits 2024
Dear Art for Vets members:
Although it’s hard to believe, the Currier launched its Art for Vets Program four years ago. Since we started serving NH’s veterans, we've witnessed significant growth in veteran participation in our program. Today, over 250 veterans are enrolled – connecting with art and the broader veteran community in creative and inspiring ways.
In 2022, Lucie Amaro-Chmura joined the Currier to lead our program, making us one of the few museums in the US with a full-time art therapist. I am sure you agree, we are fortunate to have Lucie.
Obviously, with the exceptional growth of Art for Vets has come increased costs to maintain the program. To sustain the program for our veterans and to continue to deliver on its core mission, we have adjusted some of the elements of the program. On August 1, 2024, we will initiate these new benefits for enrolled Art for Vets participants and families.

Benefits for Veterans and Military Service Members:
Free Currier Museum Access, Year-Round
- Free museum entry for ALL veterans, active-service members, and their families, year-round.
Art for Vets Family Day, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day Program Offerings
- Free access to veteran and family programming.
- Free lunch in the Winter Garden Café for registered AFV members and a 20% discount for family members and guests.
- Veterans who are not registered in our Art for Vets program may check in for a free meal pass, but the discount does not extend to their family members and guests until officially registering.
Museum Shop Discount
- Registered Art for Vets members and family receive a 10% shop discount.
Members-Only AFV Wellness Programs, Classes, and Workshops
- Registered members receive free access to Art for Vets wellness programs, Art for Vets classes, and Art for Vets workshops year-round.
Studio Classes, Workshops, and Art Camps
- Registered Art for Vets members and immediate family members receive a 20% discount off studio classes, workshops, and art camps year-round.
Program Enrollment
Enrolling in the Art for Vets program is free and allows members to access program benefits. Submission of the enrollment form and a one-time military status verification, either via email or in person, is required.

- Active or retired military personnel may use a military ID, veterans may use a DD-214, or a NH driver’s license with veteran status.
- Verification of military status can be completed by sending a copy via email to artforvets@currier.org or sent by regular mail to 150 Ash Street, Manchester, NH 03104 or shown to a guest services representative.
- Once verification is made, an AFV membership file is created. Membership does not expire, and no future verification is required.

Art for Vets Family Day
On the third Saturday of every month, we welcome New Hampshire active military and veteran families for free gallery admission and a free art activity in our Art for Vets studio.
Registered Art for Vets members may enjoy a complimentary lunch in our café. Family members and guests will receive a 20% discount.
