Gears and gadgets from the steam-power era meet art to create a fantastical machine world, meshing the natural with the mechanical. Think how a sprocket or cog can be transformed into a flower … a pair of glasses into a bicycle (for a mouse!) –cams, rods and pistons into a magical forest. Using the museum’s collection as your starting point, you’ll invent and create beautiful and whimsical art objects and environments using or referencing mechanical “things” along with traditional paint, pencils, paper and clay.
This camp runs 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., August 7 – 11.
